2026 Curriculum Development – ConnectED Phase 1–4 (Years 1–10)

Up to 2 x Full-time (1.0 FTE) (up to 40 hours per week, hours negotiable)

Fixed term: April – December 2026

Based in any Te Kura location: Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown

Te Kura is seeking two experienced kaiako to join our Curriculum Wāhanga as ConnectED Phase 1–4 Resource Developers. These fixed-term roles will focus on reviewing, refreshing, and developing high-quality ConnectED resources that support an integrated approach to learning across Phase 1–4.

ConnectED brings together the knowledge and practices of two learning areas, supporting coherent, meaningful learning experiences for ākonga. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to nationally significant curriculum work and help shape integrated teaching and learning across Years 1–10.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position  

Working as part of a collaborative curriculum development team, you will contribute to the review, alignment, and development of ConnectED resources for Phase 1–4 (Years 1–10). The work will focus on:

• Reviewing and refreshing existing resources to align with Te Mātaiaho / the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh
• Designing integrated learning resources that intentionally connect the knowledge and practices of two learning areas
• Ensuring resources are inclusive, accessible, and engaging for diverse ākonga
• Supporting clear learning progression and coherence across phases

You will be well supported by curriculum and project leadership within the Curriculum Wāhanga throughout the duration of the project.

Ko koe tēnei | About you

Registered kaiako (teacher) with a current teacher's practicing certificate who bring:

• Recent teaching experience in New Zealand primary, intermediate, or secondary settings, with experience across Phase 1–4 (Years 1–10)
• Confidence working with integrated approaches to learning, including connecting knowledge and practices across learning areas
• Familiarity with Te Mātaiaho / the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh, including:
• Integration of mātauranga Māori
• Connections to key capabilities and broader curriculum learning
• The ability to design clear, engaging, and inclusive learning resources that respond to the diverse needs, identities, and contexts of ākonga
• Strong written communication skills and attention to pedagogical detail
