Kaiako – ConnectED Phase 5
1 x Position
Full-time 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
Fixed term: April – December 2026
Based in any Te Kura location: Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic kaiako to support the extension of the ConnectED Phase 5 Pilot and help transition this programme into business as usual (BAU).
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity covering Terms 2, 3, and 4 of 2026, offering the chance to be part of an innovative and evolving learning initiative.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position
As the ConnectED Phase 5 Kaiako, you will:
- Deliver up to six ConnectED Phase 5 modules in both PDF and online formats, with each module integrating two-unit standards
- Assess and mark ākonga work, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning progress
- Work collaboratively with providers to problem-solve and ensure smooth and effective implementation

Ko koe tēnei | About you
Registered kaiako (teacher) with a current teacher's practicing certificate who brings:
- Recent teaching experience in New Zealand primary, intermediate, or secondary settings.
- Confidence working with integrated approaches to learning, including connecting knowledge and practices across learning areas
- Familiarity with Te Mātaiaho / the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh, including:
- Integration of mātauranga Māori
- Connections to key capabilities and broader curriculum learning
- The ability to design clear, engaging, and inclusive learning resources that respond to the diverse needs, identities, and contexts of ākonga
- Strong written communication skills and attention to pedagogical detail
