2026 Curriculum Development - Early Childhood Resource Developer Roles
Flexible FTE with potential for multiple roles – up to 2.5 FTE available
(Part-time and full-time opportunities considered)
Fixed-term: July– December 2026 (Terms 3 & 4)
Based in any Te Kura location: Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu | Te Kura is seeking experienced and passionate early childhood educators to support the review and development of high-quality Early Childhood learning resources aligned with Te Whāriki and contributing to continuity of learning across the wider schooling pathway.
These roles support Te Kura's commitment to future-focused, equitable, and culturally responsive online learning for ākonga and their whānau across Aotearoa.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position
We have exciting fixed-term opportunities for kaimahi to review, refresh, align, and develop Early Childhood learning resources for delivery in an online and distance learning environment.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your early childhood pedagogy, curriculum knowledge, and cultural capability to design meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support tamariki wellbeing, identity, and learning.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
You will be a Registered kaiako (teacher) with a current teacher's practicing certificate.
- Recent teaching experience in New Zealand early childhood education settings
- A strong understanding of Te Whāriki, including learning outcomes, principles, and strands
- Experience integrating mātauranga Māori, culturally sustaining practice, and inclusive approaches to learning
- The ability to design engaging, developmentally appropriate, and accessible learning resources suitable for online and distance learning contexts
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on learner, whānau, and kaiako needs
