Help ākonga achieve their NCEA goals and unlock future opportunities
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school. Our vision is to enable our ākonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities.
We are inviting experienced and NZ registered secondary teachers to join our Summer School team on a contract basis to support growing demand across a range of NCEA subjects.
Now entering our 12th year, Summer School provides an important opportunity for ākonga to gain the credits they need to achieve key educational goals, including NCEA Level 2, NCEA Level 3, University Entrance (UE), UE Literacy and Numeracy, and endorsement opportunities.
Summer School is delivered fully online and plays a critical role in helping ākonga stay on track for tertiary study, training, employment, or continued schooling.
In 2025-2026, Summer School supported:
- More than 3,800 ākonga
- Achievement of over 8,300 NCEA credits
- A programme pass rate of 94.6%
- More than 80,000 hours of learning on My Te Kura
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the future pathways of ākonga across Aotearoa.
