Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
We are seeking an experienced, Specialist Teacher to work with a neurodivergent ākonga in a highly individualised/personalised learning environment. This role would suit an educator who is neurodiversity affirming, adaptable, and confident working across a wide range of skill levels.
The successful candidate will be able to adapt learning in real time. The ākonga experiences periods of heightened anxiety and varying decision-making capacity, and a shared, relational learning approach between teacher and ākonga has proven to be particularly effective.
- The ideal candidate would be able to naturally converse in interests that the ākonga enjoys such as 3D modelling, Anime and Animations, Cosplay, Media literacy and Game design. These interests may be used as meaningful entry points for learning and skill development.
You'll also be someone who is supportive, well-organised, and flexible. In person teaching is preferred, however online or hybrid delivery model may be considered for the right candidate.
