Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position:
The Senior Procurement Advisor sits at the heart of Te Kura's Procurement function, providing strategic leadership and hands‑on support across all aspects of procurement and contract management.
You'll guide the organisation in adopting value for money, fit for purpose procurement practices, while helping business units navigate their shared accountabilities for contract performance, reporting and delivery.
Your work will ensure Te Kura's policies, procedures and commercial decisions are robust, transparent and aligned with our vision, strategic priorities and values. This is a key opportunity to influence organisational outcomes by strengthening procurement capability and supporting teams to achieve high‑quality, sustainable results.
Our salary for this position can extend up to $135,000 and there is flexibility to increase further, based on the candidate's unique combination of skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.

This role requires a confident procurement professional who can lead contract and supplier management activities with expertise, independence and sound judgement.
You'll bring a high level of professionalism to every interaction, build strong relationships across the organisation, and provide trusted guidance on complex procurement matters. Your ability to work autonomously, communicate effectively will be key to strengthening procurement capability and delivering high‑quality outcomes for Te Kura.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in contract and supplier management, including negotiation and performance oversight.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
- Additional attributes include such as sector experience, relevant procurement qualifications, project management exposure, senior‑level support experience, and strong organisational and time‑management skills.
